I ain't no spring chicken, I ain't no old dog trick,
I want to eat to the bone, and let the meat that sticks ribs,
I get the fire in marrow it yearns to breakout the furnace,
thump good book beating in chest, unrest at what comes to surface,
guests please, sit or be seated,
party just started, so don’t just go to pieces,
rabble aroused, the day and age is conceited,
there’s bricks for shields but not for building whats needed,

we hear what you say, with the straightest face. and say
dam the trickle down, we want reign. make it rain!
we all collect the same penny,
whether half full or empty, or if the hour glass breaks,
can't lose count of what amounts to grace,
all disgrace erased by.

I got public assistance and never take it for granted,
yours is a thankless job, mine are the straws I’m grabbin’,
answer the ask with a grin, a wink, and laughter,
put nose to grindstone and wed anvil and hammer,
and I ain’t sorry for your expectations,
if I owe it, show it, damn, I disown it,
and you know it.
